Community Peer Justice Project, CPJP
The Maryland Peer Advisory Council (MPAC)

The Maryland Peer Advisory Council (MPAC) is proud to launch the Community Peer Justice Project, a peer-led initiative designed to support returning citizens and families navigating the justice system and reentering the community.

What we do.
We link, connect, and navigate individuals to community-based services focused on prevention and risk reduction, ensuring access to care, resources, and supports related to overdose, substance use, addiction, and behavioral health, along with ongoing recovery support.

Persons Served
Individuals including those experiencing unplanned pre- and post-release, as well as individuals within the community.

Our Team Members
We are trained peers, certified peer recovery specialists, and Registered Peer Supervisors.

Why Peer-Led?
Peers with lived experience understand the processes of reentry and recovery firsthand. By sharing their knowledge and building trust, our peer team members foster genuine connections that inspire hope and support lasting change.

Who we are
The Maryland Peer Advisory Council, MPAC, is a peer-run advocacy council.

The Community Peer Justice Project (CPJP) is an initiative of the Maryland Peer Advisory Council (MPAC) dedicated to strengthening reentry support through lived experience leadership. Our mission is to empower individuals by addressing behavioral health needs, reducing stigma, and connecting people to the essential resources that influence long-term recovery and well-being.

Our team comprises trained peer advocates and certified peer recovery specialists, leaders, and community partners who understand the realities of recovery.
We believe in a holistic, person-centered approach that recognizes the connection between the dis-ease of addiction, social determinants of health, care, and recovery. Every individual deserves access to safety, stability, and opportunity—and our peers walk alongside them every step of the way.
We are committed to meeting people where they are, where every person, regardless of their past, has the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity, purpose, and community.
WE'RE HERE TO SERVE YOU!
